Public Art UHS
Rick Lowe, The Line (2023) | University of Houston
Explore the power of art and community with Rick Lowe's commissioned artwork, "The Line," now on permanent display at the University of Houston’s new John M. O’Quinn Law Building. Rick Lowe, a professor of art at the University of Houston and co-founder of Project Row Houses, utilizes abstract art and collage to delve into the history and identity of the Third Ward community. The title, "The Line," references the physical and symbolic boundary between the university and the historic Third Ward, raising questions about its legitimacy and relevance today. Watch to discover the fusion of fine art, history, and community in this remarkable masterpiece. To learn more about this work, visit publicartuhs.org today!
